I Want to Believe

Very good movie, the latest X-Files movie. I went to see it with my dad and the bro on Friday. It really didn’t further anything in the mythos, though it was more like watching an episode featuring the likes of Leonard Betts or Duane Barry. I thought Mulder and Scully were quite convincing, given that their characters haven’t been written for screen in over 6 years.

Yesterday was a very awesome XB360/Wii LAN. I think Ruthie very much had the most fun at a LAN she’s ever had, playing Tomb Raider Anniversary, Mario Party 8 and a few other games throughout the day. Up in the 360 room, we played our usual suspects: Call of Duty 4, Grand Theft Auto 4, Halo 3, Gears of War, and a wee lil bit of Ace Combat 6.

I had forgotten to write about my trip the week before last 🙂 I went to Minnesota with my dad and bro. We went to visit relatives on my dad’s side that neither my brother nor I had ever met. It was an interesting reunion for my pops, I’m sure. He saw relatives he hadn’t seen in 30-something years. He swiftly fell out of touch with them, particularly after we moved across the country so many years ago. We met a 92 year old great aunt, who was a big reason we went–my dad wanted us to meet the last living sibbling of our grandmother before she left this earth.

All-in-all, it was a great visit. We met a couple of my dad’s cousins, and their kids…I really don’t know what that makes me in relation to them–2nd or 3rd cousins, I think.

Then, Ruthie and I headed up to Louisville–she had been in Louisville the week previously, spending some quality time with her folks. We went up there for Video Games Live which was absolutely splendid. Before the show, Ruthie and I went to the Hard Rock Cafe in downtown and then I won a Wii Bowling Tournament against…a 7 year old girl and a 20-something girl. I was going to throw it, but Ruthie urged me not to 🙂 I’m glad I didn’t–they didn’t look like gamers, and I won a gamer mouse out of the deal. haha. But, I immediately eBay’d the mouse so that I could donate to countzero2k7‘s PS3 fund for his birthday 😀

Anyhoo, that’s about all that’s been going on of-late. The Dark Knight” was absolutely awesome. Heath Ledger played an absolutely brilliant Joker, perhaps even better than Nicholson. Stargate: Continuum comes out on Tuesday on DVD, which I’m looking very much forward to. Ruthie and I have registered at Lowes, though I think we’re still putting things on the list as we think of them. I’m working on our website, which I should hopefully have finished by the 1st…I’ll be sure to link to the registry on there 😀
