So, I was looking in my handy dandy starcharts, trying to find Gliese 581. I had the RA/DE coordinates, but I couldn’t find the star in Burnham’s Celestial Handbook. I found stars that were close to the coordinates, but certainly not exact. Stellarium is just frickin’ awesome. It’s a planetarium/star chart program written by *GASP* the French! Who knew they’d be able to chug out something cool and useful like this? 🙂

Anyway, I found Gliese 581. It was actually designated HP 74995, which I was able to cross-reference via Wiki. It’s in Libra, just beside the star that represents the top side of the scale.

I’m still alive! Just haven’t written in a while. hehe. Not too terribly much has gone on, though. Workin’, gamin’, it’s even warm enough to do some swimmin’ now.

A Steak & Shake has opened in Huntsville. It’s a very good place. It doesn’t rank as high on my list as Fuddruckers, but it’s still pretty dang good. It seems as though it’s the lunch time place of choice around here, because it’s been hellish every frickin’ time we’ve gone.

I finished watching the first season of Lost. Not a bad show. On to season two. It’ll be interesting to see where they go from here.

For those who might watch Jericho (and if you don’t, you should get the frickin’ boxset when it comes out)

So…if we leave Iraq, what happens to the Iraqi people? They’re the ones who’ve been attacked the most over there in the past 4 years. Our soldiers have been beaten up far less by IEDs and other explosives, at least from what I gauge in the media.

So, Virtual PC 2007 is free. That is so frickin’ cool that M$ decided to put it out there for such a low, low price 😀 Anyhoo, it lets me run

this

and, just as easily,

this

All without dual booting. So very precious *protects the precious*

I can play all my old games again, like Tie Fighter, Tomb Raider, Star Trek: The 25th Anniversary Game.

And, of course, puttering around in Linux is pretty cool–all without re-arranging my hard drive. And I can even move the virtual hard drives back and forth between computers and use them ubiquitously.

So very cool.

So a friend, rynnweber, had a birthday party on this fine eve. A good time was most certainly had. It was pretty much a total surprise, and it looked like a pleasant one. The original plan was to have the party tomorrow night, but countzero2k7 decided a surprise would’ve been cool. It certainly looked to be 🙂 It seemed like everyone was there, even their folks. Good times, good food, and exquisite chocolate cake 😀

Afterwards, I saw SG-1 and Atlantis. Very good episodes, though I thought Atlantis’ episode ended quite abruptly. I knew everything would be alright in the end, of course, but it just seemed to have a rather awkward and swift end. It was good to see Woolsey and O’Neill, though. All of this crossover is awesome, and I hope it continues even after SG-1 is 86’d.

And now…SLEEP!!!!!! *ZzzzZZZzz!!!*
