I think Star Trek: Nemesis really is the worst Star Trek movie ever. It has officially replaced Star Trek V at the top of the list. It was like Rick Berman was giving fans the middle finger. I’m so glad he reportedly has no involvement whatsoever in the next Star Trek film.

So, here are plans for the new mall that’s going up in Huntsville. A couple curious things about it are that it appears to be mainly one-story, and it looks like there’s absolutely jack there in terms of electronic stores. One saving grace is that it does have a Barnes & Noble, but there’s already one right down the road from there as it is. As a mall…bleh 😛 I mean, I guess it’s ok, if you’re a clothes whore–but I know even girls who have more to buy than clothes 😛 I do applaud the presence of a Swarovski, though. My mom really likes their ornaments. I think I heard something about the new theatre having 48 screens, but might be just a rumor–and I also heard that it’s no longer Regal that’s doing it, but we’ll see.

Holy cow, it’s the weekend already 😀 Just have a Friday to trudge through and then it’s WoW paradise. I got Burning Crusade the day it came out. My mage hasn’t leveled much yet, mainly because I’ve been exploring the new lands more than concentrating on leveling–he’s only 3 bars into 60. I did make a Blood Elf lock, though. The minions make the funniest comments when you sick them on enemies like “Is this really necessary”, and “This is not in my contract!”

I’m thinking of ditching my desktop and staying exclusively with a laptop. My laptop, at this point, out performs my desktop in a number of ways. About the only thing it lacks in, compared to my desktop, is drive space. I could make up for that on my webserver by having the two drives that are now in my desktop over there, and having a central file repository. I’d keep a desktop around, obviously, for my web/file server. It just seems to me that hardware for portable computers has become so analogous to their desktop counterparts that they’re just about one and the same in terms of performance–in fact, my laptop does better at 3dMark. I’ll be getting Vista for it fairly soon, though truth is I probably won’t install it until SP1 😀

The big downside to this, of course, is the possible lack of upgradability–I’d have to look into any possibilities of upgrading the video card in it. RAM isn’t a problem, of course, and I think the hard drive as well.

I don’t know, maybe it’s a foolish consideration. But, then again, it’s just in the consideration phase at this point 🙂

Some birthday present…UAH 2 Robert Morris 3. It was a cool game, though. It was fun to watch, if not a bit painful at the end.

Went to Tokyo, a Japanese steakhouse around these parts. It was quite yummy, and I very much like the way they cook it all in front of ya. Quite entertaining. They have a very awesome fillet mignon, too. I’m not entirely sure what sauces and spices they put on it, since I’m just entranced by everything the cook prepares, but it’s darn good cow. Medium rare, of course.

A nice serene upcoming weekend, me thinks. Monday is off, so I get to rest up after a long full week back after an uberly blissful winter break. I was dang tired by this evening, too. It was a bit of a long Friday.

Wrigley is getting friendlier and friendlier every day. He now consistently comes into the computer room to sit on my lap. I almost have to shoo him away, he’s so insistent about it. He’s going to definitely be one fat cat when he grows up.

Anyhoo, off to that sleep-type place. I’m out like the Republican majority.

I’m staring at the Drudge Report. The big front story is “Israel plans nuclear strike on Iran”.

At the very top, it says “Israel has drawn up secret plans to destroy Iran’s uranium enrichment facilities with tactical nuclear weapons, the SUNDAY TIMES of London is planning to report, British media sources tell DRUDGE… MORE…”

Of course, all it links back to is the root of Drudge, but still…

*shivers*

So, I have the beginnings of an ear infection. Blarg! My ear has been feeling very funny, so I went to the doctor yesterday to have it checked out. There’s no pain, which is unusual with me and ear infections. I didn’t think my sense of balance was all that skewed, but today it certainly is. But, still no pain. This is the weirdest ear infection ever, that’s for sure–usually my ear feels like it’s on fire, but not this time. Maybe I just detected it before that could happen. I wish all of my ear infections in the past had been like that. lol. Anyhoo, she gave me some antibiotics and stuff to rid my ear of the fluid. I hate these 😛 They’ve been my nemeses since I was a kid. Ahh, well…at least it was caught early before it got too bad.

I watched Real Genius this morning on HDNet Movies. I hadn’t seen it since senior year of high school, oh so long ago. Even then, I had only watched parts of it. Definitely a good movie, one of the underappreciated movies of the 80s, IMHO. While everyone was busy gettin’ addicted to the likes of The Breakfast Club and Back to the Future in ’85, this one quietly popped into cult limelight. Or else I was really that behind in movies when I first saw it 🙂 Anyhoo, great movie and I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn’t seen it.

Today will be relaxing, darn it. hehe. The holidays are over and now it’s time to relax and…zzzzzzz. lol. Well, maybe not be entirely slothy. That would just be no good, even with an ear infection 😀 It does look kinda like a blah day, though…cloudy and more cloudy. One of those days that would be good for snow, though I have more and more doubts that snow of any appreciable amount will be in Alabama ever again 😛

Insomnia sucks, particularly when you hear noises in the living room and go out there only to find two cats staring up innocently at you–and finding nothing really out of place.
